Winter Booties

These Flannery platform ankle boots (28669) were a splurge for me that involved a cardholder's discount and some red-phone magic.  I love them, but have only been able to wear them with black tights or jeans - everything else looks weird.  I spotted this pic from the Fall 2010 presentation here.

A lovely shot of a J.Crew moodboard, found here.  A spy a scrap of the metallic giraffe day coat (96171)  fabric.  I lucked into that coat on sale and *gasp* snipped off the bow for a cleaner, more mod look.  It's still one of my absolute favorite things!

Seeing Spots

Still a bit sad that I missed out on the No. 2 leopard pencil skirt (47322).  On a shopping excursion in September, a good friend snapped it up while I opted for the flame red mini pants (18850). The leopard calf-hair jacket (48874) also looks incredible, but I'm not paying $1495.00 for anything hairy that I can't ride to work.

For the record, we have capture. Those leopard pants (57202) I've been losing it over arrived on my doorstep today!

Now onto some faves from the new rollout:

I'm loving the Sterling Skirt (55080) in heather acorn so much!

I recently welcomed the warm redwood minnies into my closet, but the nightfall blue (47383) look gorgeous and seem potentially more versatile

The harvest tweed café capris (55822) have been on my radar, but my love of texture didn't put my brain on auto-buy alert until I saw the new coral camel color.

I'm slightly disappointed that the sagebrush Edie (44804) may in fact be the IRL version of the lovely fatigue-green bag with the Céline-esque clasps.

Tights: Thank you may I have another

Last year I bought 3 pairs of the exact same tights - they kept falling apart.  Here I am wearing them (in either their 2nd or 3rd reincarnation) to a college bestie's wedding in Austin, TX.  Love the color, hate how frequently J.Crew tights get holes in the toe.  And how awkwardly baggy their ribbed tights are.  But I keep coming back for more abuse!  Seen here with a Theory coat, vintage dress, vintage 40s shoes, and another lovely college bud I hadn't seen in years :)

Fingers Crossed

Arg!  My fingers are crossed for the Holiday roll-out!  I'm hoping that bag and those pants will finally appear.  I've been saving my rewards card for this very purchase.  I guess I could call customer service and ask, since I believe the pants were available for pre-order, but I'm shy!  Come on J.Crew, help a girl out!!!   I'm feeling spendy, and you've got the pants :)  Photo from here.
